New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Readies its RC Elite V2 in “Steel Blue”
Following the debut of the Stone Island x New Balance Tokyo Design Studio RC Elite SI in October of last year, NB’s Tokyo Design Studio now readies the RC ELITE V2 silhouette in a “Steel Blue” colorway. The upcoming pairs arrive in a distressed design featuring choppy cutouts strewn across breathable 3D knit uppers.
Said to be inspired by the heritage New Balance 1300JP running shoes, the new iteration features a blue mesh base with grey suede overlays and eggshell white panels. Stylized New Balance motifs are partially exposed underneath the torn overlays and the lateral “N” logos are split towards the bottom. Additional details include contrast stitching found on the heel section and “tokyo design studio” text printed on the tongue tabs.
Rounding out the design are performance sole units featuring FuelCell technology and a carbon fiber plate for energy return and 360-degree functionality.
The New Balance Tokyo Design Studio RC Elite V2 “Steel Blue” is set to release on the New Balance website and select retailers in Tokyo on August 6 for ¥35,200 JPY.
