New Balance 2002R Gets Treated With a Clean “Rain Cloud” Palette
New Balance‘s lifestyle category has garnered a sizable amount of attention in recent memory for its strong output, and one silhouette that has consistently made its way to the frontlines has been the New Balance 2002R. We’ve seen it pop up in collaborative form thanks to partners like thisisneverthat, Bryant Giles and AURALEE, but now our attention is being diverted to its inline offerings as a brand new “Rain Cloud” colorway has been unveiled.
For this latest installment, the Boston-headquartered sportswear entity selects an assortment of brighter neutrals to dress it up from head to toe. Its titular color covers a bulk of the upper as it cascades over the shaggy suede overlays that are placed along the quarters, heels and toe tips. Laces, mesh underlays and N logos are all supplied with an “Angora” tint for some brighter contrasting, and the lower heels come readied with perforations and “Sweet Caramel” outers. N-ERGY cushioning is loaded inside the midsoles to provide a sturdy and responsive ride.
These are only available via New Balance China right now for ¥999. A local release hasn’t been announced just yet.
