Arte Antwerp FW22 is a Celebration of Human Imperfections
Following a capsule with its native football club R.S.C. Anderlecht, Belgian label Arte Antwerp offers a first glimpse at its Fall/Winter 2022 series aimed at celebrating the imperfections of human creations. In a modern world where many design and production processes have been automated, Arte takes inspiration from various traditional crafts such as old-school patchwork, quilting, and crochet techniques to create products with flawed human traces. In Arte’s own words, the collection “is an exploration of imperfection as real life isn’t perfect, it’s much more interesting than that.”

The upcoming pieces arrive in a calm, earthy color palette with a strong focus on textures. Highlights include red mohair cardigans, zebra-print turtleneck puffers, yin-yang collared leather jackets, and black waxed blouson jackets that give off a shiny reflection resembling wet paint. The heart icon is a recurring theme found throughout many of the FW22 pieces, incorporated across the quilted puffer sets, clover-shaped heart jeans, and painted finger-heart emojis on the backs of the varsity jackets. Rounding out the collection is a range of workwear and sportswear-style relaxed bottoms, caps, and beanies. Beyond the finishing, hand-dyeing techniques, handwritten motifs, and flawed patterns are employed to embody the story behind the collection.

Arte Antwerp FW22 drop 1 is now available at the brand’s website and select retailers.
