adidas Officially Announce the adiFOM Q
In a since-deleted Instagram post from June, Kanye West took umbrage to adi’s 2022 overhaul of the classic Adilette Slide, saying that the model was ‘fake Yeezy’. ‘I’m not standing for this blatant copying no more’, West wrote. ‘This is for everyone who wants to express themselves but feel they can’t cause they’ll [lose] their contract or be called crazy.’
It looks like Kanye West may have another bone to pick with adi’s latest official reveal on Twitter, the foam-based adiFOM Q bearing a striking resemblance to the Foam Runner.

Coming soon: the adiFOM Q takes inspiration from the crafted foam of the archival adidas Quake of 2001. pic.twitter.com/uUXZoIGIZS— adidas Originals (@adidasoriginals) June 28, 2022
Reportedly inspired by the adidas Quake of 2001, the adiFOM Q is manufactured with an interior lining that can be worn with the shoe – obviously the most salient point of difference with the Foam Runner. In this way, the model resembles a wearable exoskeleton utilised by Converse x A-COLD-WALL* and Jordan Brand’s new clog.
Kanye West has already sued Walmart over fake Yeezy Foam Runners, although it makes things a little more complicated when you’re signed to the company allegedly ripping your designs…
Look for the adidas adiFOM Q to release later this year at select retailers and adidas.
