RHUDE Redefines “New Money” in Its SS23 Collection
Rhuigi Villaseñor continues to elevate his streetwear vision with a lean towards luxury with his latest Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
RHUDE kicked off fashion week with dose of Los Angeles casual in Paris. The collection stays true to its West Coast roots, bringing a relaxing silhouette that consists of the brand’s classic branded court shorts in millennial pink and oversized bowling shirts. With the new collection titled, “New Money,” Rhuigi elevates summer staples that are prep-inspired. SS23 sees the designer rework shorts using argyle, paired with a matching cardigan, reminiscent of the country club uniform. RHUDE continues to spread the summer spirit with vibrant pieces, including an orange hue trouser and jacket combo. The bright color scheme was a common motif used throughout the collection, including an all-leather monochrome outfit and a cotton sweater and shirt pairing.
Oversized silhouettes prove to still be in style with comfort-focused bomber jackets and blazers made an appearance in the collection. The “New Money” chic silhouette showcases Rhuigi’s idea of how wealth is portrayed amongst the current generation. Always dressing to impress, the collection continues to be a crossover between upscale tailoring and streetwear elements. Tailored trousers are paired with untucked and relaxed-fit button-downs and blazers. Staying true to the Californian vibes, models paired their fits with flip-flops, keeping the elevated pairing casual despite the suit-like inspirations.
