Nike Celebrates Lisa Leslie With a Special Edition Dunk Low
Nike is paying homage to the 20th anniversary of Lisa Leslie‘s legendary and historical dunk in a WNBA game.
Lisa Leslie became the first woman to dunk in a WNBA game in 2002. She has played for the Los Angeles Sparks since 1997 and has since won three MVP awards, led the team to two WNBA Championships and made it to eight All-Star teams. Leslie has also been inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
To commemorate the dunk that shook the world, the Nike Dunk Low is releasing in a Los Angeles Sparks colorway. The purple and gold pair is highlighted by a teal Swoosh. The teal is also seen on the brand tongue tags and heels. Leslie’s No. 9 is stitched into the heels in white and gold. The shoe sits atop a white midsole and black outsole. The dunk, which took place on July 30, 2022 is a historical date for Leslie. In honor of the date that changed the course of what is possible for women’s basketball Nike is slated to release the shoe later this July.
Stay tuned for the release of Nike Dunk Low “Lisa Leslie” in select retailers and on Nike.
