Nike to Celebrate Pride Month With This Dunk Low “Be True” Colourway
With Pride Month less than a week away in the USA, anticipation is building for Nike’s yearly ‘BETRUE’ release slate – a set of shoes that pay homage to the LBGTQ+ community. A special iteration of the SB Dunk Low is at the front and centre of 2022’s ‘BETRUE’ drops, and its buzz has been building for months after a leak earlier this year. Now, official images have surfaced ahead of its arrival in June!

One of the most compelling ‘BETRUE’ releases in recent memory, this low-cut SB Dunk is practically loaded with colourful, heartfelt details. The uppers start as angelic white leather, but, as can be seen in images above and below, that’s in fact a top layer that rubs off to reveal a bright palette that draws from the hues of activist Gilbert Baker’s iconic Pride flag. Besides the wear-away detailing, there are also embellishments like an embroidered ‘BETRUE’ hit on the lateral heel, rainbow-coloured contrast stitching that’s wavy instead of straight on the heel (arguably the most clever detail here), special tongue badges and alternating colours on the laces/heel tabs.

That’s not even all the SB Dunk Low ‘BETRUE’ has to offer. Branded tags on the inside of the tongue sit atop a zipper-equipped stash pocket, and insoles supply bold text branding with a rainbow gradient. Last but certainly not least, there’s a final rainbow Nike SB detail nestled in the middle of the crisp white outsole. The shoes also come packaged in a special box.
You can expect the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘BETRUE’ to drop this June, though an exact release date and pricing information have yet to be revealed.
