Nike Is Releasing Another Lakers-Inspired Dunk High Colourway
We’ve seen dozens of two-tone Dunks roll out since Nike reintroduced the model in 2020, so it’s more than a bit surprising that none of ’em have, until now, featured the famous yellow and purple tones of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers. However, Lake Show fans can now wash off some of the salt remaining from their team missing the playoffs and enjoy a just-revealed Dunk High that’s unofficially been dubbed the ‘Lakers.’
By now, any Dunk observer knows the formula of these two-tone styles: mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, heels and collar flaps present one tone while toeboxes, quarter panels and collars serve as a home for the other. It’s as routine and pristine as a twine-tickling three-pointer. Here, the first set of areas described are done up in ‘Court Purple’ while the second set presents a sporty yellow shade. There are also yellow nylon tongues, yellow laces and dual-coloured tongue tags, plus white midsoles and purple outsoles. College sports fans might argue that these Dunk Highs are in fact an LSU colourway, and they’d have a decent case as well!
A wide release for these is likely going down via Nike and select retailers in the coming months.
