Aimé Leon Dore Resurrect the New Balance 650R
Streetwear brand Aimé Leon Dore have been tapped by New Balance once again to resurrect another vintage basketball model. Following the comeback of the NB550, an enigmatic 1980s hardwood sneaker, ALD are now set to bring the NB650R back onto shelves. The high-top cousin to the 550, a slew of colour combos debuted last week via the brand’s founder Teddy Santis’ Instagram account.
With Aimé Leon Dore hype at an all-time high, Santis is employing a new technique to drop these collaborative kicks. Releasing them via a limited preorder.
The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650R has been decked out similar to the 550, it exudes vintage 1980s basketball vibes. All-white leather covers the model, with perforations throughout the upper and throwback branding hits. Playing into the vintage feel is the slightly-yellowed midsole down below.
All colourways of the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 650R are already set to see a public release in 2022, however ALD are personally opening a preorder for the shoes today, July 30. Apparently, there will be limited spots to reserve pairs.
