Enhanced Jaguar F-PACE SUV now in South Africa

The new Jaguar F-PACE, boasting refreshed exterior styling, a beautifully crafted all-new interior, new engine options and latest generation Pivi Pro infotainment systems, is now available in South Africa.

The award-winning F-PACE performance SUV features a cleaner, more assured presence thanks to a new sculpted bonnet with a wider power bulge and smoother, more precisely defined surfaces. The new bonnet also contributes to a more striking finish by reducing the number of shutlines on the front of the car. Jaguar’s heritage logo-inspired ‘diamond’ detailing can be seen on enlarged grille, while the side fender vents now feature the iconic Leaper emblem. The front bumper receives redesigned air intakes and dark mesh details for a more assured dynamic presence.

New super slim all-LED quad headlights with ‘Double J’ Daytime Running Light (DRL) signatures, which are available with optional Pixel LED technology, deliver increased resolution and brightness. Adaptive Driving Beam capability evaluates the road ahead and automatically adapts the high beam light to mask oncoming traffic or traffic signs. The system can create varying light beam patterns by selecting different LED segments to optimise visibility without distracting other drivers.

Premium LED technology is fitted as standard across the range and is available with Auto High Beam Assist on SE and HSE models. Animated Directional Indicators are also available on all models when fitted as part of additional linked options.

New slimline taillights feature Jaguar’s double chicane graphic – first previewed on the all-electric I-PACE – while a revised rear bumper design and sculpted new tailgate add to a more confident appearance. All models are available with the additional Black Exterior Pack featuring bespoke elements finished in Gloss Black.

At the heart of the new interior is a centrally-mounted 11.4-inch curved-glass HD Pivi Pro touchscreen in an elegant magnesium alloy casing. New finishes, including open-pore wood veneers and aluminium, can be found in the upper door insert and full width ‘Piano lid’ that is formed across the width of the instrument panel.

A new centre console sweeps up to the instrument panel while incorporating a wireless charger and greater stowage capacity, while laser-etched mid-line speaker frets and the metallic rotary dial of the JaguarDrive Control epitomise the attention-to-detail. The new Drive Selector features an upper section finished with ‘cricket-ball’ stitching and a lower section made of precision-engineered metal.

New door casings now feature 360-degree grab handles to offer easier access and increased storage for drinks bottles and other items, while the electric window switches are moved down from the top of the door roll to put them within easier reach of occupants.

New seat designs feature wider cushioning, new massage functions and enhanced coverage of the heated and cooling areas. A set of ‘Est.1935 Jaguar Coventry’ upholstery tags highlight the brand’s heritage, and embossed Jaguar Leaper is included on all headrests of selected models.

Optional Cabin Air Ionisation improves interior air quality through Nanoe technology, which removes allergens and unpleasant odours. The improved system now features PM2.5 filtration, which captures ultra-fine particles – including PM2.5 particulates – to improve occupant health and wellbeing. The system is activated by simply pressing the ‘Purify’ button.

A new Cabin Air Purification Plus system includes two additional features to make cabin air quality even better. The first of these is called Air Purge, and it delivers benefits before the journey even begins by using the climate control system’s fans and recirculation function to freshen the air inside the vehicle before the doors are opened. This is achieved either by setting a departure time through the infotainment touchscreen or the Jaguar Remote App.

The second is Cabin CO2 sensing, which monitors and regulates the carbon dioxide level in the interior. The concentration can increase over time if the climate control system operates in recirculation mode for long periods, such as can occur when the vehicle is driven through areas with polluted air. To ensure the levels remain within desired limits, the feature can enable more fresh air to be admitted.

Customers also benefit from a display on the touchscreen of the particulate levels inside and outside the cabin.

The new F-PACE is available in South Africa with two diesel and three petrol engine options, all featuring intelligent all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmissions.

Diesel choices include a next-generation 147kW/430Nm D200 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium, while a new D300 3.0-litre in-line six cylinder diesel producing 221kW and 700Nm delivers acceleration from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds.

A 2.0-litre four-cylinder P250 Ingenium engine with 184kW and 365Nm, which completes the 0-100km/h test in 7.3 seconds, serves as an entry point to the petrol range, while a new 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder P400 boasts outputs of 294kW and 550Nm thanks to its mild-hybrid (MHEV) system. This system features latest engine technologies including an electric supercharger supported by a twin scroll turbocharger and Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL), for a strong combination of refined performance and efficiency. In P400 form the new F-PACE is capable of 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds.

A new 2.0-litre four-cylinder plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model produces a combined 297kW and 640Nm from its petrol engine and 105kW electric motor. The advanced electric motor is powered by a 17.1kWh lithium-ion battery and helps contribute to CO2 emissions from 49g/km* and fuel economy from 2.2l/100km as well as impressive performance figures of 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds.

When fully charged, the new PHEV is capable of up to 53km of all-electric driving, enabling the new F-PACE PHEV to complete an average daily commute of 30.2km* in EV mode without requiring a recharge. Fast Charging (32kW DC) is capable of delivering 0-80 per cent charge in 30 minutes while a domestic 7kW wall box can provide a charge of 0-80 per cent in as little as one hour 40 minutes.

All engines are paired with Jaguar’s eight-speed automatic gearbox, which can be controlled using the steering wheel shift paddles for added driver engagement. All-wheel drive is standard across all F-PACE models and Intelligent Driveline Dynamics provides rear-wheel drive biased performance, with the ability to vary torque to individual axles almost instantly depending on conditions.

The F-PACE’s assured, dynamic presence is heightened still further with the R-Dynamic Black and its bespoke combination of features.

The Black Pack has been enhanced, with the Gloss Black finish now applied to the door mirror caps as well as the grille, grille surround, side window surrounds, fender vents with the iconic Jaguar Leaper emblem, rear valance and the rear badges. Complementing this perfectly are 20-inch ‘Style 1067’ wheels, also in Gloss Black. Red brake calipers accentuate the striking wheel design.

The theme continues with Gloss Black roof rails in place of the silver roof rails available as an option on core models, and a fixed panoramic roof. The F-PACE R-Dynamic Black is available in the full range of colours, comprising one solid finish, seven metallics including new Ostuni White, and two premium metallic paints.

The luxurious, crafted interior of the F-PACE is further enriched on the R-Dynamic Black with contemporary Satin Charcoal Ash veneers and bright metal pedals. The feeling of serenity and refinement is heightened by the enhanced Premium Cabin Lighting feature. Also available on all other models in the range, this offers the driver a choice of 30 colours in place of the previous 10.
