Maserati meets Massimo Bottura
Luxury car manufacturer Maserati has partnered with world-renowned, three-Michelin-star chef Massimo Bottura to present a kaleidoscopic Levante Trofeo Fuoriserie model during Motor Valley Fest 2021.
Though the kitchen is his primary domain, Bottura — born and raised in Modena, near Motor Valley — frequented race tracks on the Emilian countryside with his brothers in his adolescence. There, he fostered an affinity for racing and the world of high-end sports cars, one so strong that it ultimately landed the cuisine connoisseur a partnership with Maserati, which began in 2005.
“Massimo has shown true genius in expressing a modern or even futuristic vision of this tradition in every flavour, without ever betraying its origins,” said Reid Bigland, Maserati CEO, on the company’s website. “All this is very close to the Maserati tradition of designing, developing and building cars here in Italy that can excite and delight their drivers all over the world.”
Levante — the base vehicle for Bottura’s custom construction and Maserati’s first SUV — has a need for speed with a 580 horsepower V8 engine and a top-of-the-line Trofeo trim. Elevating the experience for the Fuoriserie edition, Maserati enlisted a Blu Stradale exterior colorway complete with multi-hued splats of paint across the hood and wheel components.
To put it simply, the manufacturer describes the car as “a garment, to be worn proudly on the world’s roads in a gesture of self-expression, and as a symbol of the concept of contemporary luxury.”
Bottura’s Levante Trofeo Fuoriserie is a product of Maserati’s extensive customization catalogue, in which the company offers a slew of personalized features under three basic collections: Corse, Unica and Futura. At each starting point, customers can select new external paints and liveries, wheel and brake caliper colors, interior layouts and specific cabin combinations with various stitching colorways. Additionally, the Fouriserie is available for “Sartoria” treatment, which features the label’s most bespoke layouts and constructions.
