Children of the Discordance, COSTS and Salomon Collide for Decorative XT-6 Sneakers

When Hideaki Shikama’s Children of the Discordance revealed its SS23 ’AREA AREA’ collection, GORPcore lovers and Japanese fashion stans alike drooled over its bold patterns and unique tailoring, but for footwear lovers, one item shined the brightest: a new take on Salomon’s popular XT-6. A three-headed collaboration between CotD, fellow Japanese label COSTS and Salomon, this special XT-6 adds an element of futuristic techwear into the wide slate of 1990s inspirations seen across the ‘AREA AREA’ offerings.

Dressed in black and white with just a touch of burnt orange, the Children of the Discordance x COSTS x Salomon XT-6 offers a crisp and speedy look that’s centred around a signature paisley pattern on its quarter panels and toeboxes. Similar paisley is used on some of the collection’s apparel pieces, making this XT-6 the perfect finishing touch! Other details are served up by a ‘Discordance Exploration’ text hit on the throat and a COSTS logo on the tongue. From a technical standpoint, Salomon’s ACS midsole tech, Contagrip outsoles and speed lacing system provide high-end fit and comfort.

An official release date for the Children of the Discordance x COSTS x Salomon XT-6 has yet to be revealed, but it’s likely to roll out alongside Children of the Discordance’s SS23 collection next year. It’s also a striking addition to Salomon’s collaborative Rodolex: in recent weeks we’ve also seen Slam Jam rework the XT-4 and L’Art De L’Automobile bring some ultra-bright touches to the ACS Pro Advanced.
